Toxic Imported Tainted Drywall (TITD) – A sensory inspection for TITD is included as part of our Standard Building Inspection fee. A sensory inspection for TITD includes a smell test in every room,
visual examining of the back side of accessible ceiling drywall for TITD manufacturer data and a visual examination of representative copper materials in close proximity to TITD. The copper materials in
close proximity to the TITD would include electrical receptacle outlet wiring, a/c air conditioning air handler coils and main electrical panel wiring connections to breakers. For a more technically
exhaustive inspection for TITD we recommend taking strategic bulk sample(s) of drywall material at $550 per bulk drywall sample. This $550 fee includes removing the a baseboard, taking a 2″ square sample
of the drywall, packaging and shipping the sample overnight to the laboratory. The results from the laboratory would then be emailed within two weeks.
